Our Trip To Capilano Suspension Bridge Park.

During the holiday season, there is a festive vibe all around. There are lights everywhere and the whole of Canada figuratively lights up like Christmas. In the first month of the year 2022, we planned a trip to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, North Vancouver. And let me tell you, it was a very unique experience for us. It is a huge park, covered with lights and people were enjoying it with their loved ones, having hot chocolate.

Jungle In A City.

Yes, I thought we would be travelling far from the Metropolitan to the countryside. But who knew it is right next to one of the busiest cities of Canada. You just have to get to the North of Vancouver and voila, there is the kiss of nature. It is so big that you just have to have plenty of time on you to get around.

Entry fee.

The entry in Capilano Bridge is an interesting thing. Their policy is very unique, as of 2022, the entry fee for a one-time visit is CAD 55. For the same price, you can have a yearly pass and you can basically visit there every day all year long! We opted out for a yearly pass. This time we went there in the evening, the next time we are going to go on a normal weekday so that I can add some pictures to my collection.

Lights Are Special.

Each year, in the festive season from mid-November to almost 23rd of January, the lights are installed in the park. Fun-Fact- the park alone fetches around 1 to 1.2 Million Visitors each year. Just Imagine the love people have for this piece of nature. So, First, you have to cross the narrow rope bridge to get to the park. That is the first adventure you will have right at the beginning. The bridge is probably 1000 meters long and when you reach the end, you have different paths to choose from. Everywhere you see, you will see the lights which will amaze you as you look at them.

Nature At It’s Best.

After crossing the bridge, there is a ‘Treetops Adventure Walkway’ that you can go to and there is ‘Nature’s Edge Broadwalk’. Choose any of them and start walking from the sign saying ‘Extreme Nature Ahead’. You will be seeing water streams, hearing waterfalls, different species of Owls if you are a bird-watching enthusiast, tall trees touching the sky and much more. There is a place in the park, near a pond-like structure right under the main rope Bridge, where people like to throw coins and make wishes.

Selfie/Photo Spots At Capilano Bridge.

The whole park is a spot for clicking pictures and preserving memories. But, at Capilano Bridge, you will come across so many spots where you can go and get your pictures clicked without bothering other visitors. Hut at Treetops Adventure is worth seeing and it’s away from the walkway so that you can sit and relax and click as many pictures as you want. When you come down towards the Nature’s Edge to the exit, you will see a small curved spot on the bridge which is ideal for having a couple’s picture. We couldn’t resist the urge to get our pictures clicked.

Educational Bit.

Right around the Cafes and Nature’s Edge, there is a display of the animals that live in the Park and the specimens of the insects that are native to the region. There is also a timeline illustration of the prehistoric era since the Dinosaurs. It was an interesting thing to see how they displayed some rock samples and a visual representation of other animals species.

Food And The Shops Near Capilano Bridge.

Within the Capilano Bridge Complex, there is an area specially dedicated to the shops and eating out. Yes, literally eating out! There are bonfires specially lit for people to sit around and have a conversation and enjoy food. There are shops from which you can buy all sorts of merchandise to take home as souvenirs. From wallets to passport holders and tiny totem poles to large ones. Everything in the shop is dedicated to Capilano Bridge.

All in all, it was a really good experience and we will be going there again in the summers to enjoy the fresh air and the beauty it has to offer.
