2021 was a great year for me because I read so many books. Some of them are great which changed my perspective of the world. The good thing is I spent hours and hours reading all those books to find interesting things in them, Spoiler alert I rarely get it. Before we start, an important note- most of the books were published prior to 2021. So here is the list of books that are gonna make a difference in your life.
Laws Of Human Nature By Robert Green.
Robert Green is by far the best writer who doesn’t hesitate to write true strategies people use to stay in power. If you define people with four colours- Red, Yellow, Green, and blue then this book helps to understand people 1000% more accurately than that. If people seem good at first but you still get a negative vibe from them, then this book is your solution to stay away from toxic people.
Total Money Makeover By Dave Ramsey.
It’s been about 2 years since I am following Dave Ramsey on Youtube listening to his shows and it was life-changing. Then last year I read the book. Of course, I am gonna like it because the topic is my favourite- finances. But the surprising thing is I was able to finish it in a single sitting. Managing money is hard for everyone and hardest if your parents taught you nothing about it. Then comes Dave Ramsy saving us all. His seven baby steps are very easy to imply. One of his best quotes from the book- “People buy things they don’t need, to impress people they don’t like, with money they don’t have”.
The Rosie Project By Graeme Simsion.
My anima side always draws me to romantic movies and books which are always fun to read. This book will exceed your expectations in every way. In normal romantic stories, a boy and a girl are missing something in their life and they crave someone to be that missing part. But this book is about exploring others’ perspectives about life and making compromises to be with each other, which is pretty much the reality.
Sapiens By Yuval Noah Harari.
This book has answered all the questions I had from childhood. I used to think about why the silk road is so important? If cash is money then is money in our account imaginary? If our ancestors are all Africans then why aren’t we all have dark skin? It leaves you with a mine of information that is difficult to process in the go, but you spend days digesting it.
Ikigai: The Japanese Secret To A Long And Happy Life By Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles.
If you don’t read many books, this will be your perfect book as it is small and simple to read and will help your body to stay relaxed. It is a research-based book where the authors actually went and lived in a town where people are known to have long lives. They are left with some common-sense outcomes like-stop eating when you are 80% full, always doing stretches when you wake up. All the lessons from the book are easy to apply and long-lasting.
Mating In Captivity By Esther Perel.
From the name of the book, you find out it’s a book about sex. In a capitalistic liberal society, we all are free to do anything and meet anyone. But since the 1980s people are feeling more lonely day by day. This book opens your eyes about fantasy and reality- how fantasy should stay in the mind only, how monogamy doesn’t work for a lot of people, and why you should openly talk about sex with your partner.
Stop Acting Rich By Thomas J. Stanley.
We used to think millionaires spend lavishly on houses, cars, wine, spirits, watches, etc., but Thomas spent so many years researching millionaires and found out that a lot of them live frugal lives, not impressing peers and staying satisfied with less. So if you want to stop keeping up with Jones, then give it a try.
